Urban Decay Revolution lipstick review

Morning bloggers!

So today I have another review for you! Here’s the story... Yesterday I took a trip to my nearest Debenhams (fave place) and intended on buying a mac lipstick as I have wanted one for a while but AS USUAL they never have the colour I want in stock soooo when looking at the Urban Decay range I found literally the exact same colour so I had to buy it.

Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in Rush - £15 – Debenhams - http://www.urbandecay.com/revolution-lipstick/landingpage-revolution_lipstick.html

I am a bit of a geek for packaging and I love getting make up that comes in pretty little boxes and cases, this lipstick comes in a classy gun metal exterior with a metallic sticker on the bottom with the colour name.  The lipstick is nice and weighty with a sleek, metallic cap and a smooth, angled bullet.

(I got a little bit carried away taking pictures of it because it is just so pretty...)

The lipstick itself is pigmented therefore undoubtedly gives long lasting perfect colour, it is smooth and silky to apply and leaves my lips feeling nourished not dryed out. £15 for ‘just’ a lipstick may seem abit drastic however I found my lips still bursting with colour 4/5 hours after i had first applied, so 100% worth it.

I also got given a free sample of their Naked Skin Beauty Balm – its only a tiny little bottle but I was advised that a little goes a long way.  The balm is said to protect, perfect, treat, prime and hydrate. I haven’t yet used it but I am very excited to and at only £9 for the travel sized tube I may just have to treat myself!

Let me know what you would like me to write about next!

Much love, Abb xx

Liebster Award

Helloooo lovelies,
Well after starting my blog and just doing 2 posts I received a comment on my latest post from Beth who writes a lovely blog called ‘Blue Velvet’ saying she had so very kindly nominated me for the ‘Liebster award’.

After being pretty clueless to exactly what the award was I read about it on her blog and I learnt that, the main purpose behind the award is so that bloggers new to the blogging community or have below 200 followers, can be recognised for their hard work in the blogosphere. The name refers to a German term, meaning: sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.
Not only is this a bit of fun for the participators - but it also acts as a way to boost your own blogging credentials, make plenty of fresh pals, and discover incredible blogs.
Whats not to like?!

Liebster Rules:
- Mention the person who nominated you with a link to their blog.
- Answer the 11 questions provided by the person who nominated you.
- Nominate 11 other bloggers with less than 200 followers
- Create a new set of 11 questions for your nominees to answer.

So here goes...

Beth’s 11 questions:

1. What inspired you to join the blogging community?
Well, one of my closest friends has been blogging for a while now and she told me how it can make her really happy and proud (I now know that's true) and I am constantly reading beauty blogs and reviews on everything so I thought it would only make sense if I started my own!
2. Favourite band/singer?
Not even going to lie, i'm a bit of a sucker for boy bands... Lawson and The Vamps are my faveeees
3. Who is your style inspiration?
Ferne Cotton, my life will not be complete until I am as cool as her!
4. When ordering a cocktail (or mocktail!), what would you have?
Sex on the beach – purely for the name
5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose to live and why?
New York – I have never been to anywhere more perfect
6. Favourite film/TV programme?
My favourite film has to be The Hunger Games
7. What is your one food staple that is always in your kitchen no matter what? Ok so this sooo isn’t a food but i cannot live without tea!
8. If you had a magic lamp, what three things would you wish for?
Ummm this is a hard one, bad things not to happen to good people, a band member to marry me and good health for all of my family (cute I know)
9. What is your favourite colour, and why? Emerald green, its my nana's favourite colour J
10. What is your favourite quote? No one else but myself will understand this but someone who means an awful lot said this to me and i will never forget, ‘don’t worry I won’t’
11. Post a picture of your favourite outfit please!
(I will post a picture in a couple of days when I actually have a picture)

Well, there is my (rather boring) answers to Beths questions and i will be picking 11 nominees for the Liebster Award in the next few days.

Thanks again to the very lovely Beth for my nomination!

Much love, Abb xx

2014 memory jar

Hey, well I wasn’t really intending on doing a post everyday but after my first one last night I couldn’t wait to post again!

Not sure if anyone will really care or be interested but I thought i’d share what I started recently and that is a memory jar..

I had seen someone I follow on Instagram (my Instagram name is at the bottom if you
would like to follow my peronal account) do it and I thought I would try it myself! All you
have to do if dig out and old jar, or pop along to a store and buy one (like i did) then
every time something good happens in the year write it down, fold it up and pop it in!

2013 was such a good year for me and I done lots of different things but there was lots of
little things I don’t remember so thought it would be a lovely idea to have them all
written down, then at the end of the year I can look back on everything that happened!

I added some little sparkles to mine and a sticker saying ‘2014’ just to make it look pretty
(and perfectly instagrammable!)

I hope you liked this short little post and my memory jar idea :) Abb x

First post!

Hey, ok so I know everything about this page at the minute is absolutely awful – design and layout ect – buuuuuut it’s new and I’m just trying to start so give me some time and it will get better!

I’m going to start with a sort of haul from my over filled makeup bag, I’ve recently bought lots of new bits with Christmas money and stuff so i’m going to do one or two things every few days.. sort of like a little review on each one!

Soooooo here goes :)

Benefit brows a-go-go – brow and eye shaping kit

After using all sorts of things trying to get perfect eyebrow I finally caved in to the Benefit brows a-go-go shaping set, it comes in a nice little cardboard box so its pretty hard wearing and durable.

I start with the brow zings wax and apply it with the pointed end of the brush, it sets those little annoying stray hairs in place and creates a nice base for the powder. Sometimes if i want my brows to look more natural i just leave them with the wax!
Inside you get the two brow zings powders in light and dark brown, i have pretty dark eyebrows and thought the lighter one may be too light however they blend together so good to get the perfect colour and fading effect!

The eye bright powder and wax are my ultimate fave, they're pretty light pink colours – so not too harsh like white – and when put under the arch of the brow and corner of your eye really brighten up the eyes!
It even comes with a mini black pencil liner (which doesn't seem to be in my picture, must've fallen out in my makeup bag) and a little pair of tweezers, perfect to keep in your bag for quick reapplications.
I bought my set from my local Debenhams for £27.50, so quite expensive however i got told the set will last for 2 years and i would definitely say its 100% worth the money.
A massive 5/5 for Benefits brows a-go-go kit!

Any tips on eyebrows or tutorials i could watch? I’d love to see!
